Yacht Operations Manager. Based in London, this is a one-off opportunity to join an energetic new travel business specialising in high-end bespoke global sailing expeditions. Ideally this role might suit someone who has stepped ashore from life on board Superyachts who still wishes to be involved in the industry they love and understand. Planning totally unique yachting expeditions and adventures in some of the most interesting and exciting parts of the world this is a challenging position requiring worldly knowledge, flexibility, adaptability and pro-activeness. This will be a diverse and demanding role. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES • Expedition planning: detailing options and presenting proposals for clients, creating costs for each trip; liaising with subject matter experts from around the world and ensuring that each detail is executed to the highest possible standards. • Project Logistics: complex itineraries, contingencies, equipment sourcing and costing of trips, safety procedures, permits, travel requirements and insurance, • Manage Project Finances: keeping detailed log of expenses, ensuring financial buffers and contingencies, issuing invoices, ensuring funds are received in a timely manner and overseeing all payments to suppliers, consultants and relevant third parties. Monitor and adjust costs as necessary during trips; shrewd financial analysis post-trip • Project Team Management; overall responsibility for achieving targets, task delegation, employee development and team motivation, reporting to Directors, work alongside other Project Managers to allocate project workload. • Client and 3rd party management: Ensure the highest standards are achieved when dealing with clients’ requests. Negotiate and build long standing relationships with 3rd party suppliers and operators worldwide Personal Specification: • Naturally logical individual with strong grasp of business and trip operational requirements • Good problem solving capabilities, numeracy and solution focussed • Ability to work to a deadline under pressure • Excellent communication skills, personable and able to foster relationships • Excellent planning and time management, with exceptional attention to detail • Strong personal determination Essential experience: • At least 3 years’ experience in the yacht sector and of planning trips and project management • Experience in logistics, equipment and expedition administration • Previous team management experience • Previous responsibility for managing expenditure and 3rd party relationships • Strong interest in travel and adventure • Computer literate with excellent usage of IT Desirable experience: • Project management qualifications • 3rd party travel contacts worldwide Qualifications: • Degree (or equivalent) • Languages (desirable) Location - Central London Salary - £30,000 + To Apply - Please send your CV tailored to the role to or call Clare on 02382 024 278 for more information.
