An exciting role has arisen for a skilled Field Engineer to join one of the leaders in Marine hardware solutions. Boasting an international portfolio that includes both production-level and custom products, the brand has long been a major player in the marine sector, supplying a large range of products for both sailing and motoryacht applications. Fully designed and engineered in the UK, the brand offer an exceptional warranty package to back up their products, with the Technical Support Engineers responsible for international support of all customer products. As a Technical Support Engineer, your role will see you work with both head-office and the end user to find quick and effective solutions to problems that will ideally cause no delay or upset to the customer. Following some product training you will be expected to offer customer support both from Head Office (by phone and email) and on the road, travelling worldwide to review, troubleshoot and repair. As the main point of customer support, you will need to be able to travel at short notice, with the expectation of 2-3 trips per month of 3-4 days at a time. Provided with your own set of tools and replacement parts, you will hope to be able to rectify claims within a short period, or be able to liase with HO in order to order the required parts via overnight delivery. Your travel, accommodation and sustenance will be fully expenses by the employer and weekend work will result in time-off-in-lieu. A valid in-date EU Passport is essential! In terms of your background of experience, you'll be used to working with mechancial systems and deck gear aboard luxury sail or power craft, having gained a city and guilds in Marine Engineering, backed up with further qualification (if possible) with marine hydraulics and basic electronics programming. You'll be able to work at a technical level with colleagues but maintain a level of understanding with the end customer to ensure they understnad the full rectification process.
