Highly successful, expanding Yacht Management & Charter company are seeking a Technical Services Assistant to join the Technical team. Based from our head office in Southend-on-Sea, you will spend most of your time overseas, providing technical support and maintenance across our fleet of managed yachts. Reporting directly to the Technical Services Manager, you will be responsible for the diYachting van, making regular visits to our yachts primarily berthed in the South of France, Italy and Spain. Carrying out all technical services; installing equipment, general and winter maintenance, 24/7 technical support and handovers to crew and owners. We are specialists in the 60-80ft bracket and work with a range of yacht builders including; CNB, Jeanneau, X-Yachts, Swan & Lagoon (amongst others). We pride ourselves on providing expert support and quality services for the sophisticated systems found on yachts of this size. The ideal candidate will be a qualified commercial Captain with significant technical experience, including marine engineering or mechanical qualifications. RESPONSABILITIES - General yacht maintenance - Delivering equipment to yachts with diYachting van Installation of new equipment and upgrades - MCA installs Diagnosing faults & recommending best course of action to resolve - Carrying out Winter maintenance Handovers and training for owners and crews - Occasional cover as charter/delivery - Captain Working with Purchasing & Operations Executive to organise spare parts - Sourcing and suggesting suitable parts for upgrades and yacht improvements EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED - Excellent communicator - Self-motivated, positive and committed attitude - Computer Literate (mac) Forward thinking, organised and able to work to a high standard - Great customer service - Well presented Full, clean driving license - Technical marine qualifications desirable (electrician, engineer, mechanic) - Familiar with variety of manufacturers including; Volvo, Raymarine, Onan & SeaRecovery - Yachtmaster offshore desirable, not essential - French, Italian and Spanish speakers at an advantage Full time (9am to 6pm, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day - flexible working will also involve working some weekends) £18,000 a year, plus food & travel expenses when abroad - 20 days paid holiday (plus UK bank holidays and Christmas closure) Location Southend-on-Sea & Mainland Europe To apply Please email your cover letter and CV to Becky Gilbert-Wood at Di Yachting; becky@diyachting.co.uk or via the 'apply' button below
