Sailing Manager required for busy sailing club in West Sussex. Supported by the Boatswain, the Sailing Manager ensures the smooth running of the clubs sailing program and other on water activities. Main Purpose of Job: - Facilitating sailing and other on the water activities. - Providing teaching and training facilities. - Assisting the Rear Commodore Sailing with the long term and strategic development of the Club’s sailing and racing. Duties and Responsibilities: - Coordinating and delivering the core sailing programme and Open Events, including planning, budgeting and provision of resources. - Providing support and advice to members on any aspect of sailing. - Producing the “duties” roster. Manage the roster on a week by week basis, ensuring that rostered members are reminded in a timely manner. Arranging for a complete support team to be in attendance on each racing day and managing any no-shows or difficulties. - Providing a race day service, including liaising with Race Officers, issuing race bags, equipment and radios, etc., providing safety briefings as required and supervision of support boat crews, producing and publishing race results. - Producing, distributing and collating the “Pink Forms” (race fees and stage berthing fees) each year. - Allocating stage berths, lockers, outboard spaces, etc. in liaison with Rear Commodore Sailing and issuing stage stickers. - Be Principal of the Club’s RYA Training Centre taking actions necessary to maintain the Club’s recognition. Senior instructor - Liaison with other Chichester Harbour clubs and institutions. - Acting as one of the Club’s first aiders (after training) when necessary. - Acting as Deputy Club Child Welfare Officer (after training). Wednesday to Sunday during the sailing season (March to early Nov) Monday to Friday during the winter, other than weekends on which events are scheduled. 0900 ti 1700 weekdays, 0730 to 1730 weekends.
