A Mechanical Engineer is required to join a manufacturer or commercial craft for the rescue and safety sector Known for building boats capable of going pretty much anywhere in any weather, tis organisation build a range of craft from use both inshore and offshore, each overengineered to cope with their intended use and capable of taking on any challenge. With all craft designed and engineered in house, there is a strong team of designers, naval architects and engineers employed to ensure each craft is built to specification and with the correct kit on board. The Mechanical Engineer fills a crucial gap between design and production, taking various engineering queries and concerns and converting them into logical and achievable goals. This could be as trivial as moving a fire extinguisher to ease access or as complicated and realigning part of the propulsion system to improve seakeeping The role of Engineer will include the following duties: - Assessment of mechanical queries and concerns, tasked with finding solutions through engineering, re-design or sourcing of alternative products - Working with the production teams to ensure KPIs are met and works are in line with expectations and build capability - Acting as technical support for production, but also speaking with customers externally on design or production queries - Undertaking technical investigations and analysing data As an individual, you'll currently be working in a busy engineering rolem, troubleshooting across a range of engineering tasks and have 5 or more years experience following completion of your educational studies (ideally in naval architecture, yacht design or Mechanical Engineering). You'll be technical, analytical and passionate in the design of marine craft,a logical thinker and be keen to evolve your career with one of the world best known brands.
