The Royal Yachting Association, based in Hamble, near Southampton, is the national governing body for all forms of recreational, competitive and professional boating. It represents dinghy and yacht racing, motor and sail cruising, RIBs and sportsboats, windsurfing, inland cruising and personal watercraft. The RYA is responsible for effectively administrating the technical boating certification process for approximately 600 boats each year, enabling boat users to operate their vessels within MCA guidelines, regulations and governing laws. We are seeking a Technical Administrator to assist us with these activities, on a part-time basis. As the post holder, your key activities will include, but are not limited to: * Responding to client requests for technical certification; * Receiving and reviewing incoming applications for technical certificates; * Ensuring set criteria is met before issuing certificates; * Organising annual training days for RYA Surveyors and Inspectors; and * Acting as Secretary to the RYA Certifying Authority Committee. As the successful candidate you will have excellent written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both in writing and over the telephone. You will also have the ability to deal with a wide range of people and be able to manage your time effectively in a busy and often pressurised working environment.
