British Boatbuilding specialist Sunseeker International are seeking a skilled Buyer to join their Supply Chain team, based in Poole. With a turnover exceeding £250m, Sunseeker are one of the most revered names in luxury yachts, producing vesses up to £16m in value. Building each yacht requires thousands of components, all procured directly through their team of buyers. Based out of the main shipyard on Poole Quay, the buying team are responsible for one of the largest budgets in the business, sourcing anything from glassfibre mat to a washing machine, a 2,000hp engine to a wall fixing. Parts can be one-offs sourced from across the globe through to mass-produced items through exisiting suppliers. Either way, this is a job that requires strong organisational skill and an eye for sourcing the best deals. On a day to day basis you will be expected to: - Source specified items for your designated area of procurement, through both the existing supplier network and through sourcing of new supply partners - Continually evaluate price, quality and delivery of existing suppliers - Work with both design and production departments in order to ensure parts orders are correctly executed - Develop the supplier base through building new relationships - Meet on-site with suppliers - Produce reports on new and existing suppliers for review by senior management In terms of background, you will have already held a buyer or procurement role within a manufacturing organisation and either be qualified to or working towards MCIPS standard. You'll be analytic, a strong negotiator and able to put your thoughts and ideas down on paper. This is a truly rewarding role with a brand showing a strong position in a very competitive industry.
