Mobile (On Water) Marine Engineer Salary: generous DOE + bonus (please contact us to find out more!) If you are looking for something a bit different, challenging and rewarding then this opportunity could be for you! We are recruiting for a mobile marine engineer to be based at our client's head office in Warsash. The position calls for someone who has a good engineering background, wants to be afloat on a twin engined RIB, is a problem solver, can work under pressure and is good with people. Job description: • Attend breakdowns by land or sea, safety conscious and can work within company's operating procedures. • Manage breakdowns and co-ordinate with agents in and out of office hours. • Participate in the maintenance, repair and re-fit of company vessels and vehicles. Ensure they are in a safe condition and ready for service. • Carry out service, maintenance and repair work to member and non-members vessels to a high standard. • Occasional visits abroad depending on operational requirements. • Attend PR activities and assist with joining up of new members. Essential experience • Full clean UK driving licence. Towing endorsement preferable but not essential. • Ideal candidate should have an RYA advanced Power Boat certificate commercially endorsed, however candidates possessing suitable experience or RYA level 2 powerboat certificate or higher will be considered. A willingness to learn and adapt to company procedures is essential. • A proficient understanding of Marine electrical systems. • A proficient understanding of inboard & outboard engines and ability to repair and diagnose. We will consider applications from people that feel they have the right character traits and interpersonal skills, but who do not wholly fulfil the above levels of experience, as this company may offer additional training if they feel the candidate suitable. It will be necessary to work shifts which will include pre-determined periods on-call and being ready to work outside of normal hours including evenings, night time and weekends. (Note during the summer months you will be required to work three weekends out of four (with two weekdays off in lieu), and every fourth weekend will be a four day weekend. Due to the nature of being on-call the candidate will need to be local to the Warsash office or Hamble area in order to respond efficiently to out of hour call outs. The ideal candidate: • Can work alone and as part of a team • Possess excellent interpersonal and customer care skills • Have a flexible approach to work • Ability to prioritise changing workloads, maintain a professional and safe work ethic.
