Engineering Instructor required for industry leading commercial training and simulation academy. Based in the Netherlands, the academy is currently looking for an engineering instructor to instruct and teach ship-board personnel, as well as involved in developing best practices that can be used on board the ships. An important element of the role will also be to visit our cruise ships from time-to-time, thereby ensuring that the teachings from the classroom and simulators are actually implemented on board. The training centre uses the very latest, state-of-the-art technology and methodology. It consists of Bridge/Engine Room Full Mission & Part Task Simulators and practical Electrical Training Laboratories. The number and range of engineering and electrical training courses will more than double over the next few years. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • As an Engineering Instructor, you are an integral part of the team, being a role model for the company’s Engineering / Technical Staff. Key responsibilities include: • Delivering training to ship-board technical staff • Developing courses/new procedures to be implemented on board ships • Keeping up to date with current practices and technology • Regular ship visits to maintain/update practices on-board REQUIREMENTS • Typically be or have been in the role of Chief Engineer/Superintendent, First Engineering Officer or a Subject Matter Experts (SME) Management level certificate of competency • Cruise Ship experience is preferred • Experience in teaching/instructing would be an asset • Works well in a team As part of our remuneration package, the academy offers a competitive salary and benefits package including relocation, pension plan, disability insurance and international schooling for children among other benefits.
