SEA-KIT International are world leaders in the development of Maritime Autonomous Systems and are the owners and operators of the ground-breaking SEA-KIT Unmanned Surface Vessel. We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic person to join us and take on the role of Testing and Development Skipper. This role is an integral part of the future development of the SEA-KIT line of USVs and their operation. As this is a very new field, this role represents an opportunity for the right candidate to make a mark as a leading light in this new and exciting maritime industry. The ideal person will a self-starter who is able to not only operate and manage the vessel, but is also able to capture and develop the processes and procedures required for safe, sustained long-term, offshore Unmanned operations as part of development process. Working hand in hand with the technical development team you will develop the world's first truly long-range, long endurance Unmanned Surface Vessel. This is a complex and exciting role at the forefront of the new industry of Autonomous Offshore Operations and is ideally suited to someone who is self-reliant and happy working in a dynamic and rapidly developing environment. The development of safe working practices is essential in the challenging offshore world and so a thorough understanding and experience in the creation of Standard Operating Procedures as well as a solid grounding in the operation of commercial vessels is essential. SEA-KIT International works with partner organisations and customers from around the world and an understanding and appreciation of different cultural values and methods of working will be expected. The role will require significant amounts of global travel in support of the vessel operation and may at times require significant periods away from home. Minimum Required Qualifications: Commercially Endorsed RYA Yachtmaster or equivalent Required Skills: Understanding of Maritime Regulations, Ability to establish and document new processes and procedures, Offshore Operational Experience, good knowledge of Office suite programmes such as Excel and Word Desired Skills: University Graduate or equivalent qualification with a background in Science or Engineering Location: Tollesbury, Essex To Apply: Apply direct to SEA-KIT International Ltd via the 'apply' button below.
