Technical Sales Assistant required to join a dynamic and established UK marine brand supplying the yachting industry globally. If you have a passion for sailing and are looking for your next step up within the marine industry this is an ideal role with huge opportunity to progress. Working closely with the busy sales team you will be expected to field the majority of sales calls that come into the office and see them through to resolve. Responsibilities will include supporting the distribution sales team and providing technical assistance to distribution partners and end users. The Sales Support Assistant will be expected to see orders through to completion, checking progress on manufacture, lead time and dispatch, sending quotes and invoices to customers, assisting in packing and sending urgent items. Some national and international travel may be required from time to time including support at Boat Shows and set up of exhibition stands. Creation of daily / weekly and monthly sales reports in excel, for presentation to the sales team. Essential • Sound understanding of all Microsoft office applications. • Confident telephone manner • Understanding of retail and discounted pricing mechanisms, margins, budgets & sales targets. • A positive can do attitude and a desire to work towards team goals. • Ability to prioritise time effectively and work to one’s own initiative. • Experienced with some form of database system is preferable but not essential (AXAPTA, Sales Force, Xeries) • An understanding of marine products is preferential, as is general knowledge of the marine industry. • Practical understanding of power and sail vessels and the parts on them is also advantageous. • Willingness to adapt and work on several different jobs within the office, in both a business and practical sense. • Experience within basic retail or office environments. Education • GCSE & A Levels – minimum requirement • Further education in college or university is not a requirement but will be looked upon favourably. Location South Coast Salary Up to £25,000 for the right candidate (+bonus)
