British Luxury Boatbuilders Fairline Yachts have had a fantastic 2017. With a number of new model introductions and the announcement of a major new factory on the South Coast, the business is riding the crest of a wave! Whilst Fairline are launching two new models in 2018/19, there is also an ongoing requirement to update, evolve and mantain design works across the existing product range in line with new technology and customer feedback. In a highly competitve market, this is key for Fairline to maintain their current market position. With a design and engineering team split to cover both new models and existing, under the watchful eye of the design management, there is now a need for an experienced design engineer to join the business and lead the 'Current Models' team with a range of changes and updates. A strong leader, this individual with conduct the following duties on a daily basis: - Time and resource planning on key calendar milestones - Ongoing update of mechanical, electrical and systems engineering in line with new product release - Review of existing customer feedback as to how new craft can be improved for best user experience - Management of a small team using a range of performance and quality targets The ideal individual will have gained their experience to date leading a design office (ideally marine) and be keen to push their career forwards with a leading brand. A key communicator, you'll be used to working with directors, managers and clients alike, upholding excellent standards at all times and able to work in a busy design office with tight deadlines. You'll be skilled with 3D software programs (ideally Siemens NX) and used to working on project work at a variety of levels.
