An attributes engineer is required to join a large maritime manufacturer of production yachts. Due to an ambitious plan to release a number of new models across the business, there is a need to bolster the design and engineering team in order to keep up with development plans, but also to ensure that the business maintains its market position based on the way its craft look and perform as well as their cost and quality. The primary focus of this role is to provide support to the Head of Naval Architecture, through the Lead NVH Engineer, in meeting Sound and Vibration and vessel performance standards for development projects The responsbilities of the attributes engineer are as follows • Development of the test standards; testing of products and craft to ensure that the standard is met • Attendance on sea trials as required for noise and / or vibration issues, first of line trials and performance optimisation • Research, specification, assembly and configuration of test systems • Resolution of production or aftersales issues to determine root cause and corrective measures • Maintenance of NVH test and vessel performance databases, code and information library; cross referencing to common / repeating problems and creation of corrective action plans to stop reoccurrence. • Maintenance of test equipment, associated software & hardware demonstrating value for money and return on investment • Generate comprehensive Technical Specifications • Responsible for accuracy and completeness of reports, drawings, models or other deliverables • Communicate knowledge through Development Standards, Team Ups or other means to raise the level of understanding within the Development team and ensure right first time approach • Adheres to all aspects of Health, Safety and Security Policies. We are looking for someone who meets the following criteria, • Bachelor or Master of Science / Engineering in one of the following: electrical or electronic engineering, computer science, marine, mechanical or systems engineering or naval architecture. • Strong programming skills in MATLAB (Python, Simulink and Labview is advantageous) • Hands on experience in electronics • Hands on experience in signal processing • Familiar with data acquisition systems and sensors (accelerometers, microphones, GPS, strain, temperature, etc.) • Fully conversant with both NVH and nautical terminology • CAD skills in 3D and 2D environments (Siemens NX, Teamcentre preferred) • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office suite of programmes for report writing and presentations • Results oriented approach with good analytical, team leadership and organisational skills • Ability to work under pressure in a cross functional organisation • Ability to work with minimal supervision • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills • Good problem solving skills • A positive “can do” attitude and a willingness to overcome obstacles • Recognition of and understanding of the luxury goods, luxury yacht market and client base from a practical perspective If this sounds like the next role for you please call Hollie on 02380 633399
