Draughtsperson -Furniture Our client have a long history of designing and manufacturing award winning yachts, and are looking to recruit a full time Draughtsperson -Furniture to join their growing Design and Engineering team in Oundle near Peterborough. The role will support all design and engineering activity on New Product Introduction, and facelift projects, as part of the long-range development plan. This role would suit those wishing to take their first steps on the career ladder, working within the leisure marine industry. Key Elements of the Role The role encompasses • Function design and engineering draughting tasks in order to deliver New Product Introduction and facelift programmes. • Tasks will include the draughting of interior/exterior furniture, and related parts and assemblies, whilst providing support to the furniture design engineers within the team. • Support the Production team with any day, to day issues. • Produce drawings and specification documents to allow quotation, purchase and manufacture of components. • Liaise with both the internal purchasing team, external suppliers, and the production teams within the business. • Engagement with DFMA activities to optimise implementation in production • Testing and proving of new product both in factory and at sea. • Supplier meetings and visits. • Attend relevant boat and trade shows. This work will be carried out on Siemens NX 3D CAD software, and within Teamcenter PLM. Candidates should be able to demonstrate • Experience with Siemens NX or other similar CAD packages such as SolidWorks. • Previous experience of design engineering, preferably in the pleasure boating sector, with a good working knowledge of current design and manufacturing processes. Preferable, but not essential. • A good working knowledge of design office procedures and regulations. • A “can do” attitude combined with strong team working skills. • Excellent written, numerical and verbal communication skills. • A high level of commercial acumen. • A keen interest, and understanding of furniture build and design.
