THE OPPORTUNITY An exciting opportunity to manage and grow the Palma subsidiary of a successful family owned sail making and tensile awnings company. THE COMPANY Operating for some 55 years and fully family owned, Dolphin Sails has become a leading player in the design, production and maintenance of sails, covers and tensile awnings from small vessels to super yachts. Dolphin Sails started working in Palma in 2012 and we set up Dolphin Covers Palma on the Island in early 2016. Our reputation for high quality, bespoke marine covers and unique tensile awnings for marine and architectural installations has grown fast within the Palma fleet. THE ROLE This customer facing role encompasses opportunities to sell, pattern, fit and oversee a busy sail and cover service loft, whilst scheduling work flow and interacting with our teams based in the UK. The key responsibilities for this General Manager role are: 1. day to day operations of the office/loft including management of 3 staff (admin / machinists etc) 2. be responsible for receiving taking orders for sails, covers and tensile awning work to include attending site for all necessary measurement taking and installation. 3. undertake business development for new orders to grow the turnover of the Palma branch with a focus on the tensile awning part of the business for super yachts which has the most potential for growth for the business. 4. liaise and send all necessary production to the UK office. 5. be prepared for travel including to the UK THE FIT The successful candidate will have: • A strong background in sailing • Be self-motivated and have excellent communication skills • The ability to build relationships and undertake business development • Sailmaking/covermaking/rigger experience is an advantage • Previous management experience an advantage but not essential • Super yacht experience also considered highly advantageous • Spanish language is desired, but not essential • Driving license essential • Must be willing to travel to the UK and abroad on occasion Whats in it for you: • The chance to take ownership and drive the growth of the Palma business • A generous salary of 30,000 - 40,000 €\gross. • The possibility of future part shareholding in the Palma operation This is a permanent role based in Palma de Mallorca, Spain Valid NIE in hand is essential.
